Key West has never really been on my list of places to go. But now it's on my list of places to come back to. Spending 4 or 5 hours in a place doesn't really mean you've been there. There is only so much ground we can cover and there's so much more we miss.
The first time we stopped in Key West was just before Christmas. I love the homes in Key West and their Christmas decorations were very simple. A wreath on the front door or a front window, some garland on the front porch and maybe a few lights in a tree.
I want a home with a little front porch, red shutters, a comfy chair and a palm tree.
Trudy and I must have stopped in every single shop and art gallery along Duval Street. We walked all the way from the ship to the Southern Most Point of the Continental USA and then back again. Of course we had to join the very long line up and get our photos taken with a bunch of strangers in the background.
It would be so much fun to stay here for a week or so, in a guest house with pineapples on the fence
and a rubbish bin out front for disposing of coconuts
