I don't own black pants. Not until this week anyway. I think I've maybe owned 3 pairs of black pants ever. Buying black pants was way more difficult than I thought it was going to be.
Marks Work Warehouse, Rickys, Reitmans, The Bay, Talbots, J Crew, Target, Eddie Bauer, Sears, Old Navy, Zellers, Cleos, Tristian, Jacob, RW&Co, Winners, Marshalls, Banana Republic, various stores at the outlet mall. Nothing.
Almost nothing. Dress pants are not made for my body type. There's a reason I wear jeans or skirts and not pants.
I finally found a pair at Gap. I tried on several pairs last week but didn't buy. At $80 a pair it was too much to pay for something that didn't fit perfectly. Yesterday they were marked down to $45 with an extra 30% off. So I bought a pair. They'll do for now until I find the perfect pair.
The size 12 were the right length, and they fit. I could move in them and sit down but they caused the dreaded muffin top above the waist band.
The size 14 fit, with no muffin top. But. Check out the length. They're going to need hemming. Going up one size added 6" in length. It's not like one pair were petite and one tall, both were regular.
Now I just need shoes and I'll be all set.
