September 10th to 16th
Can you believe I've been onboard for 19 weeks already?
10th Galveston - I got a new room mate this morning which was a bit of a surprise for both of us. My old roommate requested a cabin change, I didn't realize she didn't like sharing a cabin with me, but oh well. So now I have my third room mate for this contract. No loading today, we were supposed to have but it was cancelled but the warehouse.
I went out and picked up a package, new shirts for work and came back to the ship to sleep. See what an exciting life at sea I live?
11th Sea day. I finally managed to get myself to the MSA (Staff admin office) to pick up a new cabin key. Today was the highlight of my week, not. I'm not going into details here but a colleague accused me of doing some not very nice things to get to where I am. I was so mad I was shaking, I wanted to punch him. Not that it would have done any good, he's bigger than I am and it would have felt like a fly on his shoulder, but it would have made me feel better.
12th Cozumel - we docked with Carnival Magic today. Shetron and I walked over to to visit Sachin and Richard. We had lunch on lido there and then a drink or two in their cabin. I've worked with Shetron on Freedom and this Liberty, with Sachin on Freedom, and Rochard and I worked together on my first contract on Liberty and then on Freedom. A much welcomed day with friends.
After work there was a food party in the crew and staff messes. Someone had made pavlova. With berries and fruit on top. I ate more than my fair share.
14th Progreso - we had a boat drill before work and a crew sale after work. Not a very exciting day.
15th Sea day - I had to write a statement about the conversation my colleague and I had earlier this cruise. Just writing out the conversation made me mad all over again.
16th Galveston - boat drill in the morning. Normally we don't do a boat drill on Galveston day, just the guest safety briefing. But today was our annual US Coast Guard inspection. That was fun. After boat drill finished I ran out to the crew centre to pick up two packages, then back on board for a quick nap before the guest safety briefing.
