July 9th to July 15th
9th - Tab D boat drill.
After boat drill I did laundry and then went out for coffee, fresh air and sunshine in Cozumel and Internet...
I finally got access to my temporary ocean pay card. Which is a good thing considering tomorrow is pay day.
10th - Our District Manager has been cruising with us this cruise. She had one on one conversations with most of us today. I had a few questions. Of course I did, you know me. Two or three were business related and the last was about me. The feedback was positive so I'll see what happens next.
During my dinner break I watched the second weekend of the US track and field Olympic trials and the second night of the US ladies gymnastics trials. I've now watched the US trials for swimming, men's and women's gymnastics and athletics. I can't tell you who is on the Aussie team or even the Canadian team but I can tell you who is on all the US teams.
11th - Galveston. A home port day with no loading and no liquor pick up for me! I should have got up early and done something exciting. But instead I had a leisurely sleep in, woke up without the alarm clock, got a coffee and a slice of lemon raspberry pound cake from Starbucks and took a leisurely walk in Galveston, poking my nose in the boutiques along The Strand, people watching and admiring the little things.
- A touch of Americana
- I wonder how a red English phone booth found it's way to Galveston?
- Beads left from Mardi Gras
- #LoveGalveston photo stop
- Big beach chair
12th - Because I started early yesterday, today I started late. Instead of coming in at 9am, I didn't start until 10am, that extra hour in bed was so nice.
13th - one of my colleagues is port manning this cruise, it's also his last cruise. It sucks to be port manning and not allowed to get off the ship at the best of times let alone your last week. So I switched IDs with him for today. He enjoyed Cozumel, while I saw it from the top deck of the ship.
