Putting the clocks forward this morning meant we lost an hour of sleep so we went out for breakfast to make up for it. I was craving pancakes. Hubby suggested Maccas. Umm no thanks. Off to De Dutch we went.
They serve traditonal breakfast fare, but we were there for the Pannekoeken. De Dutch says Pannekoeken is "genuine Dutch pancake, tasting similar to the traditional North American pancake and is slightly thicker than a crepe. It has a circumference of 37", a diameter of 12" and if you cut it into square inch pieces you will enjoy 113 bites. Simply delightful any way you like, but the customary way is to roll it up and cut off bite-size pieces."
I'm not Dutch, so can't tell you if the above is correct or a North Americanised version. Whatever they taste good. I had the Maple Banana Walnut Pannekoeken. Hubby had the “Abby” Perogie - Hash Browns, DeBakon*and Onions inside then topped with Cheddar Cheese and Sour Cream.
If I had eaten the whole thing it would have been 32 points, that's over my entire daily allowance. Good thing I only ate half. I'm going to be eating fruit and veggies for the rest of the day.
