Hubby is rolling his eyes. Two days ago I started on a spring cleaning kick. I started in our bedroom and that was as far as I got.
I have a bag of clothes to go to Big Brothers or Diabetes, whichever clothing bin I find first. I have two bags of books to go to the second hand book store. I moved 3 boxes of stuff to the office. Hubby can deal with those boxes.
I unpacked 7 bags. Yep 7 bags - 2 suitcases, 4 duffle bags and 1 overnight bag. Apparently when we get home from a trip, we just live out of the bag. When the next trip or weekend away comes up we just pack a different bag. No wonder we can never find anything.
I vacuumed the floor, and then I started on the top of my dresser. And that took the rest of yesterday and most of today. My jewelry was in an assortment of small boxes or bags or hanging on the door knob or in random ziplock bags. The majority of my jewelry is silver. And guess what? Silver tarnishes. Big time. I don't remember when I last cleaned any of it.
Look at this bracelet and earrings, see how dark they are? See the tarnished areas? I haven't worn either of these in awhile. Mainly because they were tarnished!
Now they are all nice and clean and shiny. I might actually wear them.
My earrings were the worst. They were almost black. The earring at back has been cleaned, it looks so much better.
In an attempt to keep my jewelry from tarnishing so quickly, and from getting tangled, everything is now stored in small anti tarnish ziplock bags that I picked up on eBay. We'll see if they work.
