A few weeks back we had a three day weekend here in Canada. The Monday was a holiday to celebrate Victoria Day.
Hubby and I had some free Southwest Airlines travel vouchers that were about to expire, so we took ourselves off to Las Vegas for the weekend. Our last few trips have been with friends and family, which we enjoy, but it was nice to get away on our own.
We stayed at the Imperial Palace mainly because it's mid-strip location and the price was cheap.
I'm not going to give you a play-by-play of we did this, we did that and we saw that. I will give you some of our favourite things:
99c Margaritas
Mint crisp M&M World
Bass Outdoor World - hubby bought a whole new wardrobe, 6 shirts, 3 pair of shorts
Burgers and Margaritas at Margaritaville
Zappos Outlet - can you believe I only bought one pair of shoes!
Champagne Brunch at Cravings at The Mirage. I had chilequiles, fresh fruit, pastries and gelato.
The fountains at the Bellagio - we watched the show 2 or 3 times in a row.
Winning $200.00 and 2 buffet breakfasts by putting $1.00 in the penny slots at The Wynn
Free buffet breakfast at The Buffet at the Wynn.
Winning $50.00 on a free $10.00 play on the penny slots at The Venetian.
Riding the circular escalators
And our #1 favourite thing?
Monty Python's Spamalot at the Wynn. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of hubby's favourite movies. Doesn't matter how may times he has seen it, it always makes him laugh. And he can quote huge chunks of it. We had a coupon for $20.00 off Category 2 seats, and then the theatre was only about 75% full, so the ushers moved us futher down towards the stage. We ended up with awesome seats. John Hurley played the role of King Arthur. He was awesome. The show was hilarious. I'd go see it again.
