Running a little behind on the Institches Sew Along. The Hanging Toiletry Basket was the July project.
Looks to cute doesn't it? Shouldn't be too hard, should it? It's small. Should be quick.
Wait until you see the pages in the book. 9 pages. Then it just looks intimidating. 19 steps. More, acutally . Most steps have a. b. and c. Some even have d. And Step 2 has a. b. c. d. e. f. g! I kept putting it off. No more. It's finally done.
I had trouble understanding the instructions. alot. I got frustrated. alot. I had to rip the seams. alot. I cursed. alot.
The seams don't match.
The corners are not square.
The fish on the front pocket are upside down.
But it's done. And now it's hanging in the guest bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, soap, razor, emery board, lotion. If you don't look too closely it looks okay.
I originally saw lots of gifting potential for the hanging toiletry holder.
A newly pregnant mum to be - belly cream, nipple cream, nail polish, gift certificate for a mum to be massage.
A baby gift a la Kelli.
A house warming gift a la Finny - for a new apartment with balcony containter garden
For a bride to be - nail polish, emery board, hand and foot cream, spa gift certificate
For a friend who need time to herself - a book, a bottle of bubble bath, some body lotion, and coupon for a couple hours of baby sitting.
Ahh the options were endless.
Nope. I hated sewing this caddy with a passion. I will not be sewing it again!
At least not until I calm down.
