Well parts of it anyway. We are chipping away at the closet side of the room. It started off looking like this:
We emptied out the chest of drawers. Chucked half of the contents out, moved the drawers to the other side, and then organised the stuff we wanted to keep back into the drawers. Now there is a drawer full of mailing paraphernalia - envelopes, CD mailers, stamps, labels etc, a drawer full of chargers, a drawer full of cables that Hubby could not possibly part with, a drawer for all the manuals we've collected, and a drawer of miscellaneous stationary supplies.
On the other side of the closet we added a set of Ivar shelves from IKEA. We loaded it up with the shredder, the colour printer, the black and white printer and the scanner. Don't know what we were thinking when we only bought 2 shelves. I need to go back and get a third shelf for the hard drive, wireless router etc. I also need to find a way to tame all the cabling, wires, and electrical cords.
This evening I started on the crap that has accumulated on the wire shelf at the top of the closet. We had 4 boxes of VHS tapes. Not entirely sure why we are keeping them. We got rid of our video player quite a few years ago. When we moved here, I think. Someone please explain to me why we disposed of the video player but kept the videos? Not too smart. Most of the tapes were those demo tapes that come with new appliances. There are a few we want to keep. Luckily my sister in law has a set up to convert tapes to DVD so she's going to do it for us. Thanks Jen!
There are also boxes and boxes of DVDs, but we're not ready to banish them yet, instead we're slowly working our way through the BBC and ABC shows that friends and family have sent us. I had forgotten how good some of these shows are.
