About this time each year hubby and I spend a weekend in the Seattle area. The last couple of years his parents have joined us. This year timing didn't work for us all, so hubby and I had the weekend to ourselves.
We drove down on Friday night after work, arriving around 730pm. And because it was Black Friday the stores were open until 11pm. We hit the mall, not so much to shop, but to people watch. It was funny. People were struggling under the number and weight of their shopping bags. Some had bought more stuff in one day than I have all year. We did end up buying one thing - Apple TV.
Then we had a late dinner at Beppos. One of hubby's favourite restaurants. And because his birthday is on Tuesday, he got a free dessert and a $10.00 giftcard for next time we go. He chose the apple crostini. It was very good.
Saturday we slept in. It was so nice not to wake up with an alarm. And we headed in our different directions. Hubby shopped at Harbor Freight, Circuit City and who knows where else. I shopped at some of my favourite stores that aren't in BC.
Lunch at Blue C Sushi. Conveyor belt sushi. It was fun, and yummy, but they wouldn't let me take any photos.
Next stop Target and Cost Plus World Market. Stocked up on stocking stuffers and craft supplies. Back to the hotel for a free evening reception - deli meats, cheese, bread, corn chowder, nachos and salsa, fruit and beer and wine. Then it was off to Trader Joes for Gummy Tummy Penguins and Mexican Hot Cocoa Cookies, Safeway for Margaritaville margarita mix and Barnes and Noble.
Today we stopped at the outlet malls, the duty free store to pick up some Bailey's - complete with holiday toques (beanies) and scarves.
And check out the sunset, we had to pull over to take a photo.
